CSS supports several color formats that are all equivalent representations of the same value. HEX (#rrggbb) is the most common in codebases. RGB separates red, green and blue channels (0–255). HSL describes hue (0–360°), saturation and lightness as percentages — much more intuitive for humans to adjust by eye. HSV (also called HSB) replaces lightness with "value" (brightness), which is how most color pickers work internally. OKLCH is a perceptually uniform space from CSS Color 4 — hue changes at equal distances look equally different to the human eye, making it ideal for generating accessible color scales. All formats are supported in modern browsers.
