Create CSS neumorphism effects visually — adjust base color, shadow depth, blur, border radius and light direction. Copy the box-shadow CSS for any soft UI element instantly.
Neumorphism (or soft UI) simulates a raised or inset surface using two opposing box-shadows — one light, one dark — on a background that matches the element's color exactly. The light shadow goes top-left, the dark shadow bottom-right, mimicking a single directional light source. The effect only works when the element and background share the same color, which limits its use to monochromatic designs. Contrast can be a concern: neumorphic interfaces often fail WCAG accessibility requirements because interactive elements are hard to distinguish. It works best as a decorative technique for cards, knobs, and panels rather than for primary navigation or text-heavy content.
